Rural Dublin’s tourism providers, rural dwellers and farm families can now apply for a share of €66,000 in grant aid following a targeted call by Dublin Rural LEADER (DRL) for tourism applications under the LEADER Rural Development programme 2014-2020.

As part of a two stage application process, the company is inviting online Expressions of Interest (EOIs) by Wednesday 5th April, 2017 for funding for projects across a range of sectors including

  1. Animation and mentoring
  2. Guiding (heritage, walking and environmental)
  3. Interpretation and storytelling
  4. Marketing and social media
  5. Cluster/Co-Operative/Destination Business Development

Deputy CEO Ms Phil Moore stated The LAG (Local Action Group) may award funding under all themes and sub themes to a maximum of 50% of the total project cost and that this percentage may be increased to 75% for analysis and development type projects and to 100% for training type projects. She cautioned that these are maximum rates of aid and the LAG may award lower rates of aid as it considers appropriate. The LAG will consider the rate of aid offered on a project-by-project basis. A higher maximum rate of 75% may be applied for community-based projects where there is no commercial basis for the project this percentage may be increased to 90% for analysis and development type projects and to 100% for training type projects.
